How Exercise Keeps Your Cardiovascular System Healthy

Aerobic Exercise Implementation

Physical and mental exercises are necessary for a healthy body and mind. For some reason, when fitness experts discuss exercise, many individuals think of muscle-building exercises only. However, the value of muscle-building exercises increases when an aerobic exercise plan is added to a regular exercise routine. Combining aerobic and muscle-building (anaerobic) exercises provides the healthy individual with a strong cardiovascular system as well as a healthy musculoskeletal system, both of which are necessary for the maintenance of lifelong health.

Include Walking In Your Daily Fitness Routine

Aerobic exercises are exercises that assist in strengthening your cardiovascular system. The simple and the most efficient way to cardiovascular health is to plan to include walking in the daily fitness routine. Brisk walking will increase your heart rate and provide all the benefits of more intense cardiovascular routines without the expense or possible risk of injury. All you need for your brisk walks is a good pair of shoes that can provide the appropriate amount of support and cushioning for your feet and legs. You can walk indoors on a treadmill or outdoors at a local park, fitness club, or even around your neighborhood. Doctors recommend at least 40 minutes of brisk walking several times a week to burn calories and increase cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular exercises can also help to manage stress and regulate mood. Other aerobic options include stepping machines, elliptical machines, rowing machines, cross trainers, and even dance classes or step aerobics and kickboxing.

Exercise Regularly

The human body responds in many beneficial ways when aerobic exercises are performed. The amount of oxygen in the body and blood stream increases. The heart beats faster to pump more blood, oxygen and nutrients to the body’s hard-working organs. Natural painkillers in the body called endorphins are released, and chemicals that enhance mood and promote a feeling of well being are released in the brain. Individuals who exercise regularly maintain good general health and are less likely to suffer from everyday infections like the common cold. Other benefits of aerobic exercise include weight loss, weight maintenance, increased lung capacity and even bodily glucose control for those who suffer from diabetes and other glucose-related disorders.
